MTP: Rosie Love (part 20)

The chain slowly retracted into the ship, dragging the anchor, and the stowaway Mariotehplumber, along with it. He took the time to think about his beloved wife Rosalina.  Fond, and not so fond, memories of the two of them together passed through his head and he was filled with an immense sadness.  He thought back on all the things they didn't get to do together, whether it was because they couldn't make the time, or the occasions where his pride got in the way of doing something he wouldn't normally do.  And now he may never see her again.  It may be a cliché, but it's the truth, when you've lost that one person dearest to you, you promise that things will be different if you could just have more time with them.

The Koopas on the airship were surprised to see a teary-eyed Mariotehplumber leap over the railing, but they quickly rallied and launched an attack at him.  Mariotehplumber swung his hammer at the attacking Koopas, the tears in his eyes causing him to miss as often as he hit, driving huge holes into the deck.  But, despite the misses, he pulled through the battle unscathed.

Mariotehplumber ran the length of the ship, barely pausing to gather some rope.  When he reached the helm, he spun the wheel, aiming the airship towards World 8.  He lashed the wheel into place, wiped the tears from his eyes, and took the warp pipe leading to the cabin to confront the captain.

A feeling of grim satisfaction crossed Mariotehplumber's mind when he saw the captain of the ship, it was Bowser Junior.  Mariotehplumber now had a bargaining chip, if any thing were to happen to his Rosie, Bowser could be sure that the same would happen to his son.

27Bowser Junior was surprised to see his father's nemesis emerge from the warp pipe.  Before Bowser Junior could reach his clown car, Mariotehplumber threw his hammer at it, hitting it squarely in the face rendering it a useless wreck.  Bowser Junior quickly withdrew into his shell and started to spin around the room.  Mariotehplumber leaped over the Koopa and managed to retrieve his hammer from the wreckage.  Bowser Junior bounced off the wall and came hurtling back towards Mariotehplumber.  Mariotehplumber hefted his hammer, and when the Koopa got close, he drove his hammer into the ground, sending out a shockwave that flipped his adversary onto his back, stunned.

36Mariotehplumber hauled the stunned Koopa by his shell through the warp pipe.  Once on deck, Bowser Junior received the shock of his life.  The airship wasn't just aimed for World 8...

It was aimed at the tallest tower of Bowser's own fortress.
