MTP: Rosie Love (part 22)

Mariotehplumber rolled onto his back as flames poured around the room, lighting the braziers.  Standing over him, was his arch-nemesis, Bowser, with an evil grin on his face.  Bowser Junior was nowhere to be seen, he had scarpered in the brief moment that Mariotehplumber had been knocked down.

Mariotehplumber's eyes fell on Bowser's throne and his heart skipped a beat.  Floating above it, in a bubble of magic, was his beloved wife Rosalina, carefully guarded by Kamek.  He tried to call out to her, but a kick from Bowser sent him tumbling across the room.  Bowser lumbered after Mariotehplumber and started to taunt him:

"Domestic life has made you weak.  It wouldn't have taken you this long to defeat me before you married your dear Rosalina."

Bowser reached down to pick up his foe, but received a solid blow to the side of the head from Mariotehplumber's hammer.  Bowser staggered backwards, stunned.  Mariotehplumber got to his feet, and before his enemy could recover, he delivered a hammer blow to the floor right at King Koopa's feet.  The floor collapsed from underneath Bowser, sending him plummeting to one of the floors below.  With Bowser out of the way, Mariotehplumber charged at Kamek, his hammer kicking up sparks along the stones behind him.

Kamek considered going toe to toe with Mariotehplumber, however seeing the enrage look in his eyes made him think better, and so he took off, out the hole in the wall on his magic broom.  Because Kamek wasn't close enough to keep the magic bubble going, it popped, dropping Rosie towards the floor.  Mariotehplumber dropped his hammer and leaped towards Rosie, just managing to catch her before she hit the ground.

The rage Mariotehplumber had been feeling started to fade away.  It had seemed like several lifetimes since he last held Rosie in his arms.  Rosie took her husbands head in her hands and said to him:

"I'm pregnant."

Mariotehplumber, was overcome with joy, he pulled his beloved close and kissed her.  Their moment however was interrupted by Bowser straining to pull himself up through the hole he had fallen through.

Rage flared again in Mariotehplumber's heart.  Bowser had put his wife and unborn child at risk.  Picking up his hammer, he strode over to the hole in the floor and raised it to deliver the finishing blow.

"Don't do it!  Don't end his game."

Rosie's pleas for mercy extinguished the rage in Mariotehplumber's heart, he couldn't end Bowser's game.  He was a hero, not a boss.  He stomped on Bowser's hands, causing him to drop back down the hole, Mariotehplumber knew Bowser would survive such a drop.  After bundling Rosie into Bowser's clown car, they flew off into the sunset towards home and their much missed family.
